School Counseling

Katie Fields

Mrs. Fields joined the High Shoals community in 2024.  She graduated from The University of Georgia with a Bachelors in Child and Family Development and a Masters of Education Degree in Professional Counseling.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has been in the counseling field since 2011.  

The mission of the counseling program at High Shoals is to utilize the American School Counselor Association National Model to provide a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate program that focuses on the academic, career, and social/emotional development of all students.  

The counseling program is delivered to all students through core curriculum lessons, small group counseling, individual counseling, prevention and awareness programs, as well as parent and community consultation.
