PBIS

HSES is a PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support School) school meaning that we’re actively teaching expected behaviors in all areas of the school. In addition to your student’s academic success, we want to help prepare your student to be a successful and productive citizen in the real world too! We teach these behaviors through video lessons, assemblies, class meetings and everyday interactions with students. When students are meeting or exceeding these expectations they can be acknowledged through their classroom behavior management system, Shoalies, and grade level links. If expectations are not being met, the behavior will be re-taught and a consequence can be assigned as well by staff for minor offenses or administration for major offenses.
